To help the consumers and law enforcement agencies in the cases of mobile phone theft / snatch PTA, after consultations with all stakeholders/mobile operators, formulated a comprehensive SOP to block snatched/stolen Cell Phones through IMEI numbers. All mobile companies installed Electronic Identification Register (EIR) facility in their switches for blocking the mobile phones all over the country. IMEI blocking system was successfully launched on 30th September 2006.
For registering complaints of mobile theft /snatch following channels can be used:

At Rescue 15 Bahawalpur Police Center On 23 December 2006 after consolation PTA And CPLC  Karachi lunched  IMEI System For Cell Blocking Unblocking At Rescue 15 Center Bahawalpur

So far +10500 have been blocked and 1500 Unblocked on reports of  the user ,  30% of total complains were registered from City Bahawalpur , while 15% in District Lodhran 10% eatch in District Rahimyar khan District Bahawalnagar , 20% complained registered by Government Servant whom employ  Hospital, Cantt aria , Security servants, Education departments Students , The average blocking of cell phone par day at this Office 25/30 , Average of month 750/830
